Ver Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 23. The total goods handled at Wellington by the Harbour Board during 1901 was •283,666 tons, as against 253,059 tons for 1900. The quantity of wool and hemp for the vear was—Wool, 116,594 bales, as against 120,708 bales; hemp, 48,616 bales, as against 68,589 bales. Coal shows an increase from 61,436 tons in 1900 to 62,070 tons in 1901. Timber inwards increased from 3,056,764 feet to 3,539,293 feet; while limber outwards shows a decrease from 1.241.268 feet to 841,817 feet. The profit and loss account of the year shows that after payment of all charges there is a credit balance of. £1940. The balance of assets over liabilities has increased br £6790, and the estimated balance of a'ssets on the 31st.December over liabilities amounted to £194,066, The amount written down for depreciation was £15,079, and £IO,OOO w'as spent on repairs and maintenance.
