Shipmasters at Sydney have experienced some difficulty lately in obtaining sailors for their ships. It is stated tbat the wages 'have been increased for over-sea ships, but men are difficult to find at £4 10s a month.

The tick disease is reported to have advanced down Queensland to within thirtyfive miles of the New South Wales border. As a further safeguard against the invasion of New South Wales, dips are to be erected at the several crossing places. Working horses, which are only admitted at the crossings, are to be dipped in future, instead of being merely smeared.
