Mr Henderson, manager of the New South Wales team, says that it is not intended to send over to Sydney for reserves. They will play New Zealand with the best men available. It would be unwise tot bring emergencies over, seeing that the best players could not come in the first instance, and that another team is required to go to Queensland, consequently the newcomers would be only second-rate players. In the match against Otago'to-morrow, Wickham and Hughes (the crack centre three-quarters), Harris (half-back), Costello (captain), Beaumont, Harrison, and C. Shortland (forwards), are standing down owing to injuries. The team is, therefore," a weak one.

Temuka sent a football team up to Albury oa Thursday. They are.the only club in South Canterbury who recognise the Albury Club, notwithstanding that they belong to the Rugby • Union. Temuka were unable to bring a full team, but were not to be defeated so easily so they raked up all the men they could and faced the Albury men with 13 players. Albury also had a scratch team, but were better represented than Temuka. The result was a win for Albury as was anticipated, when the players faced each other, by I' 4 to nil. All played well; in fact it would not be fair to particularise; :;..•. A football match will be played this afternoon at half past 2 o'clock, between the Ashburton High School and the Main School on the Main School grounds.
