The quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,785,000 quarters; for the Continent, 2,185,000 quarters. ' At the. tallow sales 2000 casks were offered", and 1075 casks were: sold. Prices are unchanged. SYDNEY, August 22. The railway revenue for the past year shows an increase of £410,000 and tramways an increase of £142)000, compared with the previous year. Both returns are record's. The net surplus from the two> services is £126,000. Per Press Association. NAPIER, August 22. Nelson Bros, have received the following, cablegram/from London :—" Frozen moat market: To-day's quotations are best Canterbury, 3|d; Napier, Wellington and, - North Island 3gd; lamb, first quality 4}d, second 4Jd." , Messrs Dalgety and Co. report under date London, August 21st, as follows: " The: tallow market is steady, but there' is not much doing."'
