LONDON, August 21. The " Daily Express" states that Mr Kruger's agents made a secret bid for a new French cannon at a military exhibition -at Earl's Court, London. HONOURS FOR COLONIALS. The number of Boers still in the field I is officially estimated at 11,000. LORD KITCHENER'S PROCLAMATION. Received 1.30 a.m., August 23rd. LONDON, August 22* Hertzog and Malam, in widely separated places in Cape Colony, deprived the-Eng-lish lieutenants, who were bearers of Lord Kitchener's Proclamation, of their horses and personal property. Malam even threatened one bearer with death. RETURNED TROOPERS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 22.
