GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Geraldine Town Board was held on Tuesday night. There were present —Messrs J. J. McCaskey, J. Farrell, T. Herlihy, G. Bethune, J. M. Sutherland, and W. S.Maslin. The Geraldine Fire Brigade's half-yearly subsidy of £lO was passed for payment. Tenders were received for cleaning out the filter-box and removing willows from the head works of the water-race. Messrs Gaiger and Co's. tender of £ls was accepted. " Messrs Maling and Shallcrass tendered £7 per annum for a seven years' lease of; the market reserve.—The offer was accepted. Mr W. T. Turner was granted a seven years' lease of two sections at present! occupied by him at £1 per annum for the two sections. •
The Board resolved to give notice to Mr Berry to remove an obstruction from the creek near'his place, and to clean the creek out at the siwie place. It was resolved that as the owners of properties on the same creek had failed to comply with the Board's notice, the creek be cleaned out at once at, their expense. Accounts amounting to £37 5s were passed for payment, and the Board roso.
