A curious story is going the. round of the Greek newspapers, among them the " Asti-Neologus," Ephemeris," and others, with respect to a sum of £44,-800,-000 which a Greek subject, Mudja-Ogli, who died in India 50 years ago, left in the English bank, and for which there were no heirs. A certain number of claimants have appeared on the scene, but could establish no right to the money. The Greek papers maintain that as the deceased was a Greek subject this unclaimed fortune should be paid over to the Greek Government, which would at once puti an end to the financial crisis of the Hellenic Government.
