The Generals at Pekin have informed Ministers that it will be possible to withdraw the troops when the indemnity is settled. The Generals have decided to allow the Chinese Civil Government gradually to regain authority in Pekin. Reuter states that a portion of the German force was entrapped in a defile in Kukwnn Pass. Shansi, and 45 out of 80 were disabled. Received 12.17 a.m., May 2nd. LONDON, May 1. The Austrian troops at. Pekin will bo reduced to two, and at Tientsin to thirty.
