AFFAIRS IN FRANCE
United Press Association— Per Electric Telegraph— Copyright. Eeceived June 13th, 10.50 p.m. Paris, June 13. A Socialist deputation protested against the brutality of the police at Longchamps on Sunday. M. Dupuy defended their action, and insisted on a vote of confidence. The Chamber by 321 to 173, resolved to only support the Government while they were determined to energetically defend the Republic and ensure order. Interpreting this decision as a covert vote of censure the Ministry resigned. It is believed that M. Dupuy rode for a fall. The Socialists and many Radicals were dissatisfied with the Cabinet's contradictory attitude over the Dreyfus case, and distrusted M. Dupuy's intention to punish Boisdetfre and Mercier.
