DTJNEDIN, Decembei 14. CATTLE. 244 head were yarded, mostly good to prime, with several very heavy weights. Bidding lacked spirit and last week's prices were not obtainable.' Best bullocks sold at £8 to £9 10s, two or three extra heavy £10 to £11, medium to good £6 to £7 15s, light £4 5a to £5 15s, best cows £6 10s to £7 15s, medium to good £4 16s to £6, light and aged £2 5s to £4 10s. SHEEP* 726 fat sheep were penned, mostly shorn. The shortness of supply no doubt accounted for an advance of Is 6d to 2s per head at the beginning, but towards the close the demand was not so keen and prices sliehtly receded. Best shorn crossbred wethers sold at 12s 6d to 15s, medium 10s 6d to 11s 6d, light 8s 9d to 10s, best ewes 10s to 12s 6d, extra prime up to 17s 6d, medium 6s 9d to 9s 6d. merino wethers in the wool 12s 3d to 13s. 494 fat lambs were penned. Prices showed a slight advance, ranging from 5s 9d to 13s 3d, according to quality. PIGS. 150 were penned, representing all sorts. There was an excellent demand, and some buyers had to leave without a supply, tuckers sold at 15s to 20s, slips i2s to 255, stores 27s to 345, porkers 38s to 445, baconers 50s to 645. GRAIN. Wheat. — There is no improvement. Millers only purchase the primest to help work off what they have already in hand. Medium to good is now offering freely, but to effect sales lower prices have to be accepted. Quotations are — Prime velvet milling 3s 9d to 3s lid, do tuscan 3s 6d to 3s 9d, medium to good 2s 7d to 2s Bd, musty and soft 2a 3d to 2s 6d, broken 2s to 2s 3d ; ex store, sacks in. Oats. — There is no change to note. A steady demand exists, but there are no indications pointing to higher prices. Prime milling is quoted at Is lid to 2s, best short bright feed Is 9£d to Is lOd, extra prime Is 10£d, medium to good Is B£d to Is 9d, inferior to medium Is 3d to Is 7d ; ex store, sacks extra. Barley.— Only odd lots of inferior are offering, with no buyers. Quotations are nominal.
