THE NEW ZEALAND TEAM.
Per Press Association. " CHiUSTCHITRCH, December 12. At a meeting of the Cricket Council to-night, Mr F. 0. Raphael, secretary oi the Canterbury Cricket Association, was appointed manager of the New Zealand team who are to visit Australia. The following is the programme of the tour : —Leave Dnnedin by the Waikare on January 30th, arriving at Hobart on February 4th ; play the South Tasmanian Association on February 7th, Bth and .9th, and the North Tasmanian Association at Launceston on February 11th, 13th and 14th ; leave Launceston for Melbourne on February 14th ; play Victoria at Melbourne on February 17th. 18th and 20th, and New South Wales at Sydney on February 23rd, 24th and 25th ; leave Sydney by the Waikare after the match on February 25th, and arrive at Dunedin on March 4th, the trip thus being accomplished m five weeks. The Junior Cup match Timaru v. Geraldine, which was to have been played on Friday, is indefinitely postponed. A match between the Dunedin Cricket Club and Timara Cricket Club has been arranged for 26th December. The visitors arrive on the. Saturday night. In view of this match members are requested to practice so as to give the match committee a chance to pick the best team. A match was played at Geraldine on Saturday between Geraldine and Temuka, the visitors being defeated by 125 to 64. For Geraldine, B. Macdonald 46, A. Willoughby 44, Roy Pearpoint 11, and Hislop 10, were top scorers. Feilden took 4 wickets for 45, Minifie 3 for 31, Hayhurst 2 for 4. For Temuka, Dann 38, E. Brown£9, were the best batsmen. Roy Pearpoint took 7 wickets for 28, H. W. Moore 2 for 24.
