A deputation of leading importers and distributors of colonial butter waited on the Australian Agents-General regarding the pending proaecutiona in respect to the use bf boracic acid in preserving butter, and requeated the AgentsGeneral to ask the British Board of Trade to stay further proceedings in the prosecutions instituted by the Glamorgan County Council againat persons engaged in the sale of Australian butter until such time as experts had an opportunity of making an investigation in connection with the charges, and fixing n standard for the whole country. Sir AndrewClarke, Victorian Agent-General, on behalf of the other Agents-General, assured the deputation of their sympathy, and promised to represent as strongly as possible the views advanced by the deputation to the Government. The balance sheet of the Shaw Savill and Albion Company Bhows a profit of £26,793.
