0 ... » , 1 Per Press Association. 0 CHRISTCHURCH, April 28. 1 The Police Commission resolved: "(1] " That having regard to the terms of thf Koyal Commission appointing this tribunal the members of the Commission have resolved that m future no charge oi matter will be entertained or dealt with by the Commission which hat > arisen or happened or which shall j arise or happen after February 4th, , 1898, being the date of the Royal 1 Commission herpin ; (2) That having regard to the public notice published m all the daily papers of the colony calling upon persons having complaint m re--1 spect to matters to be dealt with by the a Commissioner, to lodge such complaints - m writing with the secretary of the Commission by a certain date, viz., March 10th, 1898, and the special notice given 8 at the opening of the Commission m - Ohristehurch, and having regard further 2 to the already lengthy period during which the prqeeedings of the Commission have been continued, the membesi of Commission resolve that no charge oi complaint brought before the Commission by any person or persons will be accepted, investigated or dealt with by the Commission m Christchurch which is not now before it, and that at other places where the Commission .may sit no charge, complaint, or matter will be * investigaied or dealt with by the Com- * mission unless such charge, complaint 1 or matter with reasonably detailed partic- * ulara as to names of persons, dates, and * places of occurrence, be furnished m J writing to the secretary of the Commis- * sion (and so as to be received by him) " within 24 hours after the commencement fc of the sittings of the Commission . at 1 each place." 5 The Commission proceeded with cvi- } dence m the charges against Constable ■ McGill. At the Police Commission this after- ' noon, a deputation of police presented a list of grievances, and suggested reforms ) —free uniforms, pension scheme, travei--1 ling expenses, etc.
