The bricklayers who were employed 1 on the Parliamentary Buildings, made ■ an offer to complete the work at current i rateß on the co-operative system, and to r engage and pay the labourers if the Government allowed them to select the • additional bricklayers whom it would be necessary to take on m order to get the work finished m time. The Minister of Public Works declined the offer. A 1 few men have been put on to keep the , building going.
