Association held a meeting to-day, at which they wished their patron, Sir John Hall, and Lady Hall a safe journey to England and a quick return renewed m health. Sir John, m his reply, referred to the kindly and courteous co-operation of his colleagues, and to the pleasure he found m working for an association which, he suggested, m its work and constitution set a good example to the advocates of non-party government, elective executive, and referendum. He suggested also that the association should enlarge its scope by reading papers and making experiments which would benefit the farmers m the community and for the advantage of farmers throughout the colony. He suggested that an agricultural and pastoral con ference should entertain the question of establishing a central national organisation m order to place thegreatestindu3try of the colony on an equal footing with other industries, and to collect and disseminate useful information.
