AN CIANT ORDER OF FORESTERS

The annual meeting of the South Can terbury district was held on Friday even ing at the Foresters' Hall, Timarvi. Tin following officers werd present :— Bros T. Harris, D.C.R. (m, th,e chair); J Stevenson,' D.-B. ; James Burford.D.T. W. 0. Bind, D. Secy: JE. H. Lough P.C.R., District Trustee; arid W.'Weny D. Auditor. Bio. S. Mcßride, D.S.C.R. was unavoidably absent, arid' Bro. W. A Osborne, P.C.R., acted m his stead Delegates 'jftvere present as follows :'— Court Southern Cross, £ros. .C. G Vogeler, C.R.; and T. W. Pratt, P.C.It. Court Foresters' Pride, (Waimate), Bros A. Bitehener and W. Coltraan, F.C.Rs. Court Progress, St. Andrews, Bro. G Emery, P.C.R. Several P.C.Rs. anc members of Court Southern Cross wen also present. Lengthy eorrespondenei was read and approved. The yearly balance-sheet and auditors' report wen presented and adopted. During th< year the district has paid £64 m furiera pay for two members and two members wives, all from Court Southern' Cross A further sum of £115 had. been pjace< at fixed deposit, and 'the- total linde this head was now £390. All dued ha< been promptly paid, with the exceptioi of those of Court Progress, and a resc lution was carried bearing on the sufc ject.' Bro , Bitchener was duly installed by tin retiring D.C.R., Bro* Harris, arid after , wards returned thanks for the honoui ' conferred upon him. A hearty vote o 1 thanks was accorded Bro. Harris for hii '. past services, and a P.D.G.R. neck ribbon was presented him by the D.C.R The D.S.C.R. and D.B. Bros. Brown anc McTaggart, will be installed at the nexl meeting m Waimate. Bros. T. W. Pratt and W. Weny, P.C.R.s, were re-electet mditors. Accounts amounting to £1J were passed after which the D.C.R. dulj closed the Court. The district officers md delegates -were afterwards entertained for an hour, some capital songs being ; given by Bros. Hams, Coltman Emery, and Weny.
