THE COLONIAL TREASURER'S VISIT TO ENGLAND.

He has also been appoiutedto represent the colony at the Intercolonial Postal Conference which sits at Hobart on Ist t February, and he has further been em- . powered by the Cabinet to meet the i Premiers of the Australian colonies, ' who will be assembled at Hobart, . to formulate and discuss proposals I for reciprocity. Mr Ward will return [ to the colony about the middle oi t May, and during his absence his various 3 departments will be administered by i his colleagues. Departmental Treasury j matters will be dealt with by tht i Premier ; while the Hon. Mr Mclvenzie 1 will conduct the Government insurance, j public trust, advances ta settlers anc industries and commerce departments the Hon. Mr .Reeves will direct the Cus toms and Marine Department ; and the Hon. Mr Cadman the Post and Tele graph Department. Sir Patrick Buckle) will relieve the Hon.
