) — — * (By TELEaBAPH.) L CHRISTCHURCH. January 15. 2 At the annual district meeting of the 1 Bible Christian Church yesterday, the report of the temperance secretary " presented and discussed. A resolution 5 was carried, deploring the evil effects of i the liquor traffic, and urging members to discountenance the use of intoxicants m the community. Another resolution approving of the work done by the Pro- > hibitionist, and commending it to the 3 people's support, was passed. The following officers were nominated :— The Rev. B. H. Ginger, chairman : Rev. J. G. * W. Ellis, chapel secretary ; Rev. Mr <■ Quintrell, school secretary ; Rev. A. c Mitchell, missionary secretary ; Rev. J. Orchard, treasurer. At the public meeting m the evening , the Rev. A. Mitchell was received into 1 full connection, the ordination charge f being delivered by the Rev. W. Ready.
