Reports are received here that attacks by Japanese oa Anohow and Yichow were repulsed. Japanese oruisera are scouring the Yellow Sea. The China Merchant Company are selling their ships to neutral flaga. There is a panic m the Chinese mercantile world. Received 1 a.m., September 29th. September 28. Further reports from Yalu elate that the Lan Tuen eank by the stern with her bowa upright m 90 seconds. A Bhell burst m her cookplt, killing those m it, and wounding a number of the ore*. The vessel left aotiun to extinguish the fire which waa the result of the Bhell bursting, and after transferring the wounded she re-engaged the Akyio. The captain himself worked the vessel from the tops, watching the torpedos until the mast was shot away. A Chinese court-martial is enquiring into the cowardice alleged against the captains. Admiral Fing charges throe of the vessels with leaving without engaging the enemy, and the captains of these vessels make an excuse of the suddenness of the Japanese attack. The Times' special correspondent states that the concussion from the first discharge of the King Yuen'a guns capsizad everyone on the bridge, aud that the cxc* cution of the Japanese quick-firing guos was marvellous. One of the Japanese vessels sank ; three othera were badly damaged by fire, and & fourth is said to have been so badly injured that her bows were submerged and her propellers were In the air. The Tonghakoh has attaoked the Japanese at Taku, and reinforcements are being despatched from Seoul. The Russian newspapers propose that England, Russia and France should parti* tion and occupy China, and cause oivili^t* tion aud trade, '

It expireE when peace with China is signed. Washington, September 27. Reports have reached here that the army which embarked at Hiroshima is intended for the invasion of China, and will march upon Pekin. The details of the expedition are said to have been planned by American offioera.
