The Lizard has arrived at Noumea With the news that the Ringarooma has been made seaworthy, and leaves Port Sandwich to-day for Noumea under the Orlando's escort. She will sail thence to Sydney. The Wallaroo returns to Auckland. THE ELECTIONS. [ Msiboukne, September 20. The elections as far as can be gathered to-day will result m the defeat of the Government and a victory for the Liberal party. All the Labour members have been returned. Three Ministers will lose their seats and possibly four. The returns are incomplete as yet but Mr Bent, the Speaker, and Sir B. O'Loghlen have been defeated; while Mr. Turner, leader of the Opposition ; Meßsrs Smith, Murray, Outtram, Reid, Carter, and Deakin, have been elected. Sir 3 Patterson, PreCiier, secured his election at Gaatlemaine, but as the junior member. Mr Fink defeated Mr Boßisto. STRAINED RELATIONS. Brisbane, September 20.
