Brisbane, Oct. 25. With reference to tho statement of Sir H. S. King respecting the Queensland Investment and Land Mortgage Company, enquiry shows that action against the directors was taken on the advice of Sir Horaco Duvey, and Sir S. Griffith advised tbe latter, but the advice of Sir S. Griffith and Sir H. Davey was given on a statement of facts which plaintiff utterly failed to prove. The statement with roforence to festivities is denied. (Reoeived 10.20 a.m., Oot. 25fch.) London, Oct. 24. In his monthly circular Mr F. O. Licht estimates that the European beet sui>ar production for one month will show an increase of 25,000 tons. For the new campaign he estimates a decrease of 91,000 tona. (Baoeivod 7 p.m., October 25th.) The Committee, appointed by the Chamber of Commerce to consider the question of bills of lading, have decided to invite assistance from the Australian Chambers of Commerce.
