The wash awsy extended over a langth o£ 21 miles. The Murray is rising rapidly, and floods m the Albury district are feared. Melbotjbse, July 15. The steamer Bunooora is firmly embedded m the aand, and thera is but little hope that the tugs sent to her assistance will succeed m towing her off. Soundings indicate that the vessel's bottom is stove m, but there is no immediate prospect of the vessel breaking up unless a southerly gale sets m. The winter meeting of the V.R.C., ha 3 been postponed until Tuesday next, but a further adjournment is considered almost certain. A terrifying spectacle was witnessed on a plateau m the Daudenong ranges. An avalanche of earth, fifty acres m extent, swept down the side of the mountain with a fearful roar, and engulfed ona residence, the occupants of which escaped with difficulty. One lady was buried m the debris but was rescued. She however had a leg broken, besides sustaining other injuries. (Received 1 a.m., Jaly 16th.) It is difficult to estimate the damage caused by the floods m the Yarra, but it is fully a quarter of a million. A great deal of pillaging is going on m the houses evacuated by tliß occupants.
