REVENUE RETURNS.

The following are tho revenue returns for the nice months ending December 31st : — Customs, £1,121,983 ; Stomps, £«,ISlj Poatand Telegraph, £39,211 ; Property Tax, £2U,4fiß; Beer duty, £41,615 ; Hailway, £784,791 ; Begistration etc., fees, £29,903 ; Marine, £14,101 ; Miscellaneous, £28,202 ; Territorial, 104,597. Land sales, £85,228 ; Deferred payments, £35,739 ; total, (including shillings and pence) £2,878.033. The actual collections are couMderablj more than the above figure*, as the latter only represent moneys brought to accouut by the Treasury. The accounts for the last quarter of the financial jear always contain the largest receipts because revenue is telegraphed on t'»o lust day from all parts of the colony. Tho expenditure for nino month* is well within bounds, and the Treasnry officials anticipate the financial results of the year will bo up to expectation;.
