TERRIFIC HURRICANE.
-♦- A TOWtf DESTROYED. GREAT LOSS OF LIFE.— ELEVEN WRECKS. (Per Electric Telegraph— Copyright.) (Special'[to Press Association.) (Received 10 a.m.," March Ttb.) Mozambique, March 3. Intelligence has reached this place of a disastrous hurricane which has been experienced m Madagascar. The gale was felt with extreme violence on the east coast of tha island, and tho town of Tamatave, which is the chief commercial port of Madagascar, was laid m ruins' by the forco of tho wind. Eleven vessels were wrecked m harbour or on adjacent reefs. The extent of tho casualties is not yet known, but at Tainatave twenty per' sons were killed by falling debris.
