FROZEN MEAT TRADE.
■ « ■ (By Telegraph.) NAPIER, Jtthh 24. At the Harbour Board's meeting to-day the lease of part of the Western Spit was applied for on behalf of the new Freezing Company to be started in opposition to Nelson Bros. It is understood that the Shaw Savillo Company will take a large interest in the new company, and will carry its meat to London at 2JJ or id leas than the best terms offered to Nelson Bros, before the latter took the stops which have resulted in the establishment
of the Colonial Union Line of steamers. For the present, however, the competition, thoueh it will benefit the sheep farmers, will not affect tho Colonial Union Line, which have a substantial guarantee for full freights of frozen meat for three years.
