Sir Henry Lock also visits Adelaide shortly. WOMEN'S FRANCHISE. An influential deputation waited upon tbe Premier yesterday to urge the advisability of amending the Electoral Act so as to give the franchise to women. Mr Gillies stated that he was unable to deal with the question this session, but he promised to closely consider the views of the deputation. SUNDAY SCHOOL DEMONSTRATION. An immense Sunday school demonstration is taking place to-day in the exhibition building. Fully twenty thousand persons are participating in the proceedings. (Rocoived 10.15 p.m., Jnno 24th.) THE WAKATIPU AND TE ANATT. Sydney, June 24. The Wakatipu and To Anau sailed last night, the former for Wellington and the latter for Auckland. THE PEAT'S FERRY ACCIDENT. The sufferers by the Peat's Ferry railway accident are all progressing favourably. SYDNEY TRAMWAYS. Several proposals have been received for leasing the Sydney tramways from Government. The wheat market is considerably depressed, and purchases are limited to pressing requirements. "Wheat is quoted at from 3s lid to 4s, but farmers are holding back, being unwilling to submit to a reduction in prices. Flour is in very little demand, none whatever for export. Splendid rains have fallen throughout South Australia during the last few days. ADELAIDE EXHIBITION. Melbourne, June 24. It is expected that fully one hundred Victorian members of Parliament will avail themselves of the invitation to visit the Adelaide Jubilee Exhibition. FORWOOD'S CASE. Application was made to-day before Mr Justice Williams for the release of Charles Forwood, solicitor, who was arrested last month on a charge of lar* ceny as a bailee in New Zealand. The Judge reserved his decision. NO RELEASE. The Government declined to release any prisoners in honour of Her Majesty's Jubilee.
