Pressure on our space compels us reluctantly to hold over reports of the Rechabito tea meeting, and of tho Presbyterian and Primitive Methodist Jubilee services. Mr Jacob Young last evening forwarded to Mrs Jonas, Mayoress, a magnificently designed cuke m memory of the Jubilee proceedings.
Wo hare received a copy of a pamphlet entitled " The Work of the Imperial Institute," being an addreaa delivered at the Royal Institution of Great Britain by Sir Frederick Abel, on the 22nd April last. On Sunday last special services were held m St. Saviour's Church, Tomuka, m celebration of the Queen's Jubileo. In the morning the service was that [appointed m commemoration of Her Majesty's Accession, and m the evening tho Litany was raad and appropriate hymns were sung. After the meeting of the Waimate Borough Counoil on Monday last a meoting of the Works Committee was held rs tho fencing of the Oval m the Reserve. It was resolved— "That tho Clerk call for tenders for the work to bo done, and a speoial meeting be called to decide on them." Tho meoting then adjourned. Eailway Refreshment Rooms, Timaru. — D. McQ-uinness desires to stato that luncheon is still provided at the above rooms from one till three o'clock daily. A private room is specially provided for ladies only, with waitress m attendance.
