* CHUISTCHURCH TRAINING NOTES. [By Telegraph.] Chhistchurch, Nov. 4. There was a lot o£ strong work at Riccarton this morning. Waitiri held his own m a capital gallop with Nelson. P.isha and Creuiorne did half pace work m fair stylo. Desmond and Torrent went twice round the course proper, completing the last milo and a half m 2min 44sec. Forester, after cantering, did a f-iat milo and a half, moving strongly. Artillery went twice round on the grass, slow. Lochiel did a useful three miles, the last mile m company with Marion, fast. Alpine Rose and Itepo did good work, the former moving very well: Patrician went twice round the course proper at a, useful pace. Trickster covered two miles fast and pulled up a trifle lame. Ruby performed a steady two miles. First Lord was confined to walking exercise, and Tasman did not nppcar before breakfast. A most successful meeting is anticipated. Disowned is still a strong favourite for the Cup, and Lochiel and Nelson are next m demand. Waitiri gained favour by a gallop this morning, but Ruby and Firat Lord are under suspicion. (By Cable.)
