SUPREME COURT.
(By Telegraph.) Blenheim, Nov. 2. In tho Supreme Court to-day, Mr Justice Richmond, m sentencing the two lads, Barker and Hardy, to two years' imprisonment for horse-stealing and forgery, remarked that he was not a believer m the reformatory influences of police surveillance, but as responsible people are willing to take charge of the boys, ho would report to Government on their case, m which technical difficulties were m the way of adopting the Probation Act. The court is hearing civil cases to-day. Tho Judge expects to return to Wellington on Thursday night.
