MACKENZIE COUNTY COUNCIL.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Mackenzie County Council was held at Burkes Pass on Monday, the 4th October. Present— Messrs J. McGregor (chairman), Jas. Milne, J. S. R-itherford, F. E. Orbell requesting that the road across tho Green Hill bo re-formed, and m some places shingled, nnd stating that tho Levels Estate had a large area under crop this year alongside the road ; also, requesting repairs to Rocky Gully road. Reßolved— " T'snt tho necessary work be carriot) out before tho surfacemen leavo the j neighborhood of the Cavo." ! From William O'Neill, forwarding claim, £2 ss, hire of horse, Mount Cook track ; and (comp'aining that the overseer had neglected to place the account before the Council. ! The Clerk wan instructed to reply that tho Council could not recognise tho claim, having made no arrangement with O'Neill for h ; re of horse. From the National Mortgage and Agency Company, requesting particulars of rates on I Glentanner station, and forwarding name of the present occupier. From James and Patrick O'Neill, requesting road to bo formed through U.S. 25370 and 31113. The clerk was instructed to report on tho application to next meeting. From Mr Thorna3 Askin, declining to pay half the cost of forming the road from Mountoessine to Hocky Gully. From the Crown Lands Office, requesting that tb,o accounts of tho Burkes Pass Domain Board be audited. From Mr M. Fitzgerald, forwarding statement of trees planted, and account for samo. From Mr Kobert Guthrie, of Mistake Station, requesting a grant towards the maintenance of the Mistake Hill track, and repairs to the Mistako-Tekapo road. Resolved — " That a grant of £5 bo mado for the Mistake Hill track, and repairs be effected as requested as soon as possible to the Mistake-Tekapo road." From Mr E. A. Chapman, requesting tho council to tako action to have tho boundary of tho county altered bo as to includo the ■whole of the Grampian and Black Forest tuns-
