THE RABBIT NUISANCE.
(By Telegraph.) CHHiSTCHtrncH, Oct. 6. The runholderg north of the Waiau, nt a meeting to-day decided to prepare a petition praying the Governor-in-Council to proclaim the Atnuri county north of the Waiau, including the I-eslie hills dißtrict, a rabbit diptrict under the act of last session. They expect a revenue of £1200 on which to claim tho Government subsidy of £ for £. The rabbits m this district are Tery numerous. The runholders m Houth Amuri, which is at present threatened with, a rabbit invasion from, the north, are taking similar precautions.
