The schooner Onward arrived from Gisborne, m ballast, on Saturday morning, after a rnn of nino days, and anchored m tho outer roadstead. After throwing out her ballast aho sailed into tho harbour m tho afternoon, and was berthed at tho inner hnoys. She loads for Napier on account of Messrs R. Allon and Co., and will probably bo brought alongsitlo tbo wharf this morning. Tho Union Company's s.a. Grafton, Captain Nordstrom, from Dunedin, brought 120 tons of general cargo for this port on Saturday morning, besides a nnmber of passengers. Sho left Dunodin at fivo o'clock the previons evening, and experienced strong N.W. winds to arrival at seven o'clock m tho morning. After discharging hor inward cargo, and putting on board some 45 tons of produce and sundries, ahe sailed about fivo o'clook m tho evening for Akaroa and Lyttolton. The dato of tho departuro of tho Union Company's s.s. Wakatipu for Sydnoy, via Lyttelton and Wellington, has beon postponed till next Thursday. The local agent of tho Union Steamship Company informed us on Saturday that m consequenco of the s.s. Grafton requiring an overhaul next week, certain alterations m tho Dnnodin-Westport servico will be rendored necessary. The Grafton, which arrived from Dunedin on Saturday morning, and proceeded northwards m tho evening, only goes as far as Lyttelton, instead of on to Nelson and way ports, as hitherto, and will then tranship her cargo into the s.s. Mahinapua, which vessel tnrna back m placo of the Grafton, tho latter retnrning to Dunedin via way ports m the Mahinapua's running. On tho Mabinapna's arrival at Lyttolton from tho coast on tho llth instant sho again returns to Westport, via way ports, arriving back at Lyttolton on tho 18th instant, and thon continuing her usual ruu to Dunodin. Tho Grafton will on hor retnrn from Lyttolton and arrival at Dunedin on Wednesday, bo docked, and as sho will bo laid np till Friday, tho 15th instant, there will be no boat from Dunodin northwards on Friday, tho Bth, or from Lyttelton southwards on Monday, tho llth instant.
