IMPORTANT MINERAL DISCOVERIES.
(By Telegraph.) Auckland, Sept. 30. Important discoveries of richly mineralised quartz have been made on tho enstcrn side of Great Barrier Island. Four analyses have just been mado of stone from different reefs, the lowest of which gives 13dwtsof gold nnd 7ozb of silver per ton ; nnd the highest 6ozs of gold, and 1 Gozs of silver per ton Government has been comiminicalcd witb m order to have the district pro;laimed a goldfteld.
