DESTRUCTIVE FIRE.
(By Teleokaph.) Chbistohubch, Sept. 23. A fire to-night broke out m the shop of J. Silvester, basketmaker, Colombo street, which •wa9 complotoly destroyed, with tho stock. Tho ahop3 of Or. Fletcher, tailor, and Jjonguet, hairdresser, were also destroyed, and very little stock was saved. The office of Qarrick and Cowlishaw, solicitors, had a narrow escape, and was only saved by great exertions. All the buildings are of wood, and the property of the eßtate of the late Isaac Luck. Ihey are all insured m the Norwich Union, and probably other offices. The amounts aro not known. Fletcher's stock was insured for £2000 m the South British ; Silvester's £250. Longuet's stock ■was uninsured.
