AUCKLAND v. NEW SOUTH WALE 3. (By Teleorapu.) Auckland, Sept. 21. Tha football match— Auckland t. Kew South Walea — came off at Newmarket thi* afternoon. From 3003 to 4000 people were present, and the weather was eplendirl. Mr MoArthur umpired for Sydney, and Mr E. F. Cotter for Auckland. Mr Thomas R. Henderson acted ns refereo. Shaw captained tbo SjdDsy and Rjan Ibe Auckland team. In the first term Colquhoun (Sydney) potted tv goal from (he (it-Id, mid Marshall (Auckland) got a try, which McCausland converted into a goal. In the second term Sydney did not play bo well, while Auckland played a man snort, UcCausland ha»ing retired through a strained leg. Wliitcsido got two tries. Ryan failed to kick m one case, but-Lockie converted llio other into a goal. Marshall got another try, but Leckie failed to kick a goal. Tho match ended m Auckland winning by fourteen points to four. Seven new men were m the Auckland team, Arneil, Polland and two Warbricks being out of it. Among the Aucklanders, Marshall, Wbiteside, Madigan, Lindsay and LeckJQ
played well, and for New South Wales, Austin, Colquhoun, Walker and Shaw. The Bydney team have decided to stop till the next boat, on Tuesday, and will play anothei match on Saturday.
