Jnly 27. Mr E. G. Staveloy (for tho Now Zealand Loan and Mercantilo Agency Company, Limited), reports as follows : — At tho Ashburton salo to-day there were about 1700 sheep, and a small entry of cattle. FAT SHEEP. A quiot market, and over anpplied. There was agood domand for young crossbreds. Fat crossbred owes, 8s to 8a 3d ; forward twotooths, 8a 3d ; small two-tooth half-brod ow.es, 5a 4d ; aged crossbred ewes, low condition, 3s lOd ; fair merino ewes m lamb, 4s ; medium orossbrcd lambs, 53 Id to 53 Gd. CATTLE. Wo sold fat heifers at £1 7s Gd ; light weights mado £5 and £o sa.
