NARROW ESCAPE FROM DROWNING.
(By Telegraph.) CnBtSTCHUBCn, July 27. A sailor from the ship Oumaru fell into the harbour wbile drunk last night, and would have been drowned but for McConnell, the steward of tho Bteamer Akaroa, who plungfd m and rescued him. This is the second time McConnell has saved life at the risk of bis own.
