CHLOROFORM POISONING.

[Bx Telegraph.] Auckland, July 16. This afternoon a young woman named May Duke, daughter of Mr J. S. Duko, Deputy Registrar of Votes, was found suffering from symptoms of poisoning. An emetic was promptly given her, with satisfactory results. Drs Walker and Beere applied the usual remedies. Both gentlemen pronounced the girl to be suffering from chloroform poisoning. Miss Duke is a barmaid at the Occidental Hotel. Tho family is well known m Auckland. Slio was married to Mr Chalmers, but tho parties are living separate She is now out of danger. She is a sister of Mrs Bolfe, the actress.
