r ♦ . MR SEDDON AT DILLMAN'S TOWN. ! (By Teleokaph.) ' KtrsrAEA, May 7. Mr R. J. Seddon addressed his constituents at Dillman's Town last night. He referred to the questions dealt with last session, and said the result of Mr Russoll's motion proved tho whole thing to bo a well planned scheme to Btop half a million ■ being Bpent in public works, and with monoy to purchase the non-paying political > railways. He said Government had failed to redeem their pledge to relieve tho mining industry from the excessivo taxation imposed ; 1 in fact it had been increased by tho Stamp '■ Act and increased charges on tho transfer of mining properties by 600 per cent. Ho objected to excessive borrowing, and said the state should refuso to register mortgages on land where the interest exceeded 8 per cent. If the Government policy mot with his approval ho would give them an independent Bupport. On the other hand, if thej refused to disclose their policy, or propounded a policy antagonistic to his viows he would vote against them. A vote of thanks and confldonco waa carried . unanimously.
