Tho ohampion whaleboat race, for .£2OO & side, between the Wojtemata and Hauraki crews, took place this.' afternoon, and was witnessed by 10,000 people).,. ,T.he Govejnor vjas present., The race waßjWelljCoateßted till half way home, when a foul' took' 'place. Hauraki then came away,- and-won by several lengths. The Waitemato protest of deliberate fouling was disallowed by the umpire.' A good deal of money changed hands.
