ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKETS.

Christchurch, March 31

Largo entries of sheep and moderate entries of cattlo wero yarded at Addington to-day. Thoro was an average attendance of buyers and othors.

Fat Cattle.— Hardly an average entry, but quality principally good. Tho demand was rather dull. Rates show no alteration. Steer 3 Bold at from j!5 10s to £7 ss, hcif<T3 from £i 12s Gd to £C> 2s (id, fut cows £3 17* Gd to JSS 17s ad, bein? from 17s to ISs per lOOlb.i. Fivt Shnep.— A good entry, some good lines of crossbred sheep being on offer. For the=o an improved demand was shown. Ordinary sorts show no alteration. Tho follou-ii;;,* lira the prices paid : — Crossbred wethers from 7a f>d to to S3 3d, and for a very extra lino 12s and 12s G.I wn.3 paid, cro.^sbrod cws3 5s 3d to 7s 9d, merino wethers 3a to 4h 3:1. Storo Sheep. — A large number on offer, bnt no improvement to record iv valnc3. Crossbred ewes, 'I aud o' tootb, from "s Od to 43 per head, aged ewes 2s, aged merino owes from Is to la 4d. A small line of lambs at 2s 9d.

Fat Lambs.— Only a mo-lcrato oatvy. Sales were made at from 3s to G3 per !ic:icl. Pigs. — A fairly good entry. Values show no alteration from Uuwi> lately fjiiotcd. Porkers sold at from ICs to !W-s por head, storrii 3s to 12s Gd.

Store Cattle. — A very small number was yarded. The demand v.hm proved very slack, and no sales to note. I;i (We market for dairy stock thero was a. good entry of cowa and heifers near to calviu?, the demand for which wag keen. Tho following aro the pricos obtained:— £b, £a 7s 6il, XCi 7s 6.1, and up to £8 7s 3d por head.
