MAJOR ATKINSON AT AUCKLAND.
Aucelakd, March 31. Major Atkinson addressed tho citizens of Auckland to-night, at tho Theatre Royal. Mayor Wadcll presided. There was a crowded attendance, and on the platform wero several members of tho Legislature, local bodies, and representative citizens. On Major Atkinson making his appearance on the platform he was warmly received with cheers, which were renewed on his commencing his address. [In consequence of the latp hour at which Major Atkinson's speech came to hand, and owing to pressure on our space from other sources, We are compelled to hold OTer the report till our next issue ] MR J. S. MACKENZIE AT NASEBY. DnNtorN, March 30. Mr J. S. Mackenzie addressed his constituents at ftaseby last eyeningand received an unanimous voto of confidence. He opposed any extensive borrowing scheme, but thought tho colony could stand tho borrowing of one million yearly to bo devoted to tho completing of works m hand.
