RIFLE MATCH.

jBERAIiDINE V. TEMUKA. The retem rifle match between the Volunteer corps of Temuka and Geraldine took place on the range at the latter township on Saturday afternoon, and resulted m another win for the Temuka Rifles by 61 points. The ranges were 200, 300, and 500 yards ; five shots at each ; regulation targets and scoring. The teams, as at tbe first match, were composed fit ten men each. The Temuka men drove out to Geraldine, the ribbons being handled by Lieutenant White, and the journey, owing to the weather being fine, was very enjoyable. Arrived at Geraldine, very little time was lost before getting to the range, The scoring, it will be seen, was muoh better than on the previous occasion. On concluding the firing at the first range, the Temuka men had a lead of sixteen points ; at the second 31 points, and at the last range, by the number recorded above: The top scorer of the match was Lieut. Ward of the Geraldine Kifles, who made tbe splendid total of 45— exactly an average of centres. Compared" with- this- the shooting of tbe Temuka team was but medium, but they shot on the whole for more evenly than did their opponents. The following are the full scores : — TEUVKA BIFI.ES.
