» •'- [By Tbleoiufii.] . . CnuißicnrJßcu, March 25. Sir Georgo Grey spoko at tho Tuoni-strcet Hull to-night to a crowded audience, which numbered about 2000 porsons, including

several ladies. He was received with enthusiastic applause. He began by referring to tho fact that he had been some years previously the member-elect for that city, whose citizens he was addressing. With his old eloquence he touched on tho nobility of the work of " founding a nation which should be mistress of the South Pacific," m which his hearers, m common with all the people of the colony, wore engaged. After touching on the fact that many colonists were insufficiently, and othera completely, unemployed, ho led up to his proposals for dealing with land as a means of restoring, prosperity to tho colony. He said that all tho large blocks of land lying tenantless Bhould be acquired by the State not hold by it, and offered m blocks of moderate sizo to farmers, who should pay a quit rent sufficient to recoup the State for ita outlay. He repeated m substance his remarks previously telegraphed. Though a sudden cessation of borrowing might cause a panic, he thought that if they r*ised ten millions hurriedly it would weigh upon them with deadening effect before ton years were ovor. A voto of thanks waß unanimously accorded to Sir Georgo on the motion of Mr D. Reese, M.H.R., for Stanmore.
