THE HINEMOA.
1 (By TeiiEqbaph.) Wellington, March 20. Tho s.s. Hinemoa returned to Lyttelton this morning from Bounty and Antipodes Wanda. Captain Fairchild reports that he built two , houses, one on tho north-east end of the 1 Antipodes Island, and one on tho western end > of Bounty Island. He landed all the stores m good order, and found good anchorage and a good landing at both places. He found plenty of beautiful water at Antipodes Island, and found the remains of old huts at both 1 places, where people had been living, but they ' must have beon sailors from New Zealand, as i all the old timber about the huts is Now Zealand wood. Mount Galloway, tho highost part of tho Antipodes Island, is 1820 ft high, and the highest part ef Bounty Island is 290 ft. There is no vegetation of any sort on Bounty Island — nothing bat coarse granite. Tho Antipodes Island has about 2500 acrea of level land, all covered with long grass.
