The American ship Paul Jones, 1 205 tons, which left this port on the 17th march, bound for Calcutta m ballast, caught fire m the Straits soon after leaving, and m spite of all efforts to extinguish the flames she was gutted to the water's edge and bad to be abandoned. The match between the Australian representative team and a Combined Fifteen of Australia was continued to-day.
