March 17. Mr D. Stronaob. reports for the week ended March 17th aa follows : — Fat Cattle. — Thore wag a vory full supply yarded at Burnsido for this week's requirements, viz., 239 head, quality principally modjum, with a small proportion of primo. For the latter description prices wero much about tho same as last week, but for the former competition lacked spirit, and prices woro easy. Best bullocks brought £S 15s to <£9 10s, medium £i 10s to .£7 17s Cd, cows from .£3 23 Gd to .£8 7s Gd. Fat Sheep. — The market to-day was conssderably over supplied, 700 merinos and 3146 crossbreds boing ynrded. Ono-half would havo amply supplied trado requirements, and consequently only tho primost qnality had any demand, and thon atarodnotionof fnlly 2s per head on last week's prices. Low and medium quality wero difficult to placo. Only for some graziers preaont, who wero tempted by the low E rices offered to bay, a largo number would aye been turned out unsold. Best crossbred wethers brought 7s 6d to 9s 6d. One extra heavy pen brought 10s, medium 5s Gd to 7a, best do owes Gs Gd to 8s 6d, one pen 10a 3d, medium 3s 9d to Gs. Grain. — Wheat— This market has romaineil exceedingly quiet during tho past week, and tho comparatively small business passing hoa been at somewhat lower pricoe. Now wheat is iNMr-comtng forward, but m small quantities, and millers are careless abont buying. Wo quote — Primo milling 3s Gd to 3s 7d, medium 3s 4d to 3s sd, inforior and fowls' wheat 2s 6d to 33 2d (ox store). _ Oats are m moderate supply; but tho domand is weak, and sales during tho week havo been on a small scale. Wo qnoto— Primo milling 2a Id to 2s 2d, bright short fcod 2a to 23 Id, medium Is lOd to 23, inferior Is 3d to la Od. Barley. — Thoro is no businoss of any importance m tho meantime.
