Sheep. — Good crossbred wothor3 sold at from 7s Gdto Bs, do modinm quality andmixod sexes from 53 6 to 7s, merinos realised from 4s to Gs. Tho average price per lb for mutton may again bo qnotod at ljd, vory few lota selling at abovo this rate. Notwithstanding tho almost ruinously low prioes ruling for store Bheep, tho entry was one of the largest penned for some time. Owners are m many cases obliged to sell for whatever they can get, m consequence of tho scarcity of f cod. Several vory desirable linos wore on offer, but a largo proportion consisted of aged and inferior lota. Good young well-grown crossbrod owes and wothora sold at 5s 6d and 4s Bd, aged crossbred ewes 23 2d and 2s Gd, 4 and 6 tooth crossbred owes 2a lid, lamb 3 from Is 'id to 2s Gd. Tho greater part of a hoalthy line of ICOO brought only 2a 2d. Cull merino owes sold at lOJd and Is l.|d. Cattle. — A rathor numerous entry of fat cattle was yarded. Tho demand for tho best steera on offer was a shade better, though littloor no alteration can bo recorded m value. Good steers sold at from .£5 to £7 7a 6d, beef 15a to 17s per 100 lbs. Scarcely any business ia being dono m store cattle. This ia owing to the near approach of winter, and the uncertainty as to whether there will be any appreciable growth m grass beforo spring. There is still, however, a fair demand for good dairy cows. Pigs. — Tho pig markot was woll snpplied. Prioes aro without alteration. Porkers sold at from 143 to 2Gs, and baconcrs up to S2s.
