Communications are passing between the Premier, the Governor, and the adjoining colonies with a view lo convoking a Conference to meet at Melbourne to discuss the advisability of adopting the' scheme put forward by Admiral Tryoa for the defence of the colonies. It is understood, however, that the members of the Victorian Government generally are unfavorable to the plan m question. VICTORIAN PRESBYTERY. A. meeting. of the Presbytery held i last night resolved, after an acrimonious debate, that the Pi-esbytery should not sustain the call of the Rev. Mr Dodds to the pastorship of the. Scot's Church, m consequence of his connection with the recent rebellious proceedings on the part of that church. [Received 10.30 p.m., Maroh 11th.7 MESSRS GOLDSBOROUGH AND CO.'S WOOL REVIEW. Messrs Goldsborough Co. (Limited), issued their annual review of the past wool season to-day. They report the shipments at this date: — Victoria 287,000 bales, New South Wales 300,000, and from other colonies 395,000, making a total exported from Australasia of 982,000 bales, an increase upon previous years' shipments of 33,000 bales. Exports to the Continent amount to 52,500, and to America 20,000 bales. At the local wool sales, held at Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide, 336,500 bales were disposed of, being a decrease of 3400 bales as compared with the previous year. AUSTRALASIAN WHEAT CROP. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited), reporting'upon the wheat crop, estimate the gross yield from Australasia to be 33,000,000 bushels ; 5,500,000 bushels are set down as available for export. The gross requirements of New South "Wales, Queensland, other colonies, and the Pacific islands are given at 7,000,000 bushels. [Received 0.55 a.m., March 12th.] SHIPPING.
