SEED WHEAT FOR ADELAIDE.

[By Telegraph.] > Chbistchubch, March 10. By the steamship Taupo, which sailed for Adelaide yesterday, Messrs Wood, Sinclair and Co., who have chartered the boat, sent a large parcel of seed wheat to that place. The shipment is the first of tho kind sent there from this colony, and its despatch was suggested by the fact that the South Australian harvest had partially failed, nnd it was* thought that tho introduction of a new class of seed would prove acceptable to the farmers there. The Canterbury wheat was considered suitable, because of its rcsomblance to Adelaide wheat. Should the shipment prove successful, a new outlet for producers may result. The only Drawback i 3 that there is an ad valorem duty of ten per cent levied at Adelaide on imported wheat. Messrs Wood and Sinclair endeavoured to obtain a rebato of the duty m their favor, but without success.
